It was an honour to be the magician in Cardiff's Black & Orange Ball 2018

In April this year, I had the absolute honour and privilege to perform for the second year running in the truly fabulous and inspiring Black & Orange Ball. The event was held on April 14th at St Davids Hotel Cardiff, to raise money for the MS Society and WOW, what an event it was!
As a professional magician for over 10 years, I often get asked to perform at charity events, all of them for great causes that make a difference to people's lives but the Black & Orange Ball really stands out for me as one I thoroughly enjoy performing at. The now annual event is organised by the amazing Kathyrn Foot whose effort, passion and enthusiasm is completely infectious!
From the moment I walked into the beautiful St Davids Hotel, I began and could not stop smiling! You could really feel the atmosphere and I can honestly say that I don't often get that when I am hired as an event magician. I arrived ridiculously early (as I always do) and there was a choir practising for what would later in the evening become an extraordinary flash mob and they were amazing!!
I performed my unique magic and mind reading in a mix & mingle format during the drinks reception and then some table magic in between courses during the dinner. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant and all of the guests were an absolute pleasure to perform my magic for.
As this was the second consecutive year I had performed at the event, I was both mindful and careful to change the material I perform so that people who had witnessed my magic last year, could experience something different. As a professional magician for hire, I believe its crucial to change the magic you perform each year and I usually do change most of my material so that its fresh, modern and impactful. During this wonderful event, I did trial some brand new material, my favourite of which is a mind reading routine where people generate a random number, then someone takes out a bank note and the numbers match the serial number on the note.
